Addison Luxury Condominiums Bollards

The Addison Luxury Condominium complex in Boca Raton, Florida, contacted us when looking for a creative way to hide the three 18" wide by 30" tall bollards in the front of their building. Meant to provide both a physical and visual barrier that controlled traffic and protected the front of the building from cars, the bollards were functional but not particularly attractive. The solution? We proposed creating custom-made planters to place as "sleeves" over the bollards. This would match the building's attractive entrance while retaining the functionality of the bollards.

For these bottomless slip-over planters, which were made using a custom mold in a modern spiral pattern, we designed them using lightweight yet durable fiberglass. These outdoor planters were made lightweight so that they could be easily lifted and placed over the bollards. The fiberglass construction also made them impervious to weather, especially moisture damage, which is often a problem for coastal cities like Boca Raton. And since fiberglass planters are often used in high-traffic environments because of their sturdy construction, they are ideal for public areas such as this one, with their constant foot traffic.
