To help the Omni Hotel in San Diego expand its sidewalk dining area, Planters Unlimited delivered a custom planter and metal fabrication solution that blended aesthetics, durability, and city-mandated safety. In partnership with Jeffrey Beers International, the project aimed to create a permanent outdoor dining environment that was both elegant and secure. The final design incorporated durable Fiberstone planters in a modern Chenza finish, paired with high-quality steel privacy screens. Each component was engineered for longevity and ease of use, including hidden casters for mobility, a custom locking system for structural integrity, and modular features that allowed for reconfiguration depending on the hotel’s operational needs.

This project illustrates Planters Unlimited’s ability to handle complex design and compliance challenges through integrated, in-house manufacturing. The seamless coordination of planter and metalwork production reduced lead times while ensuring precision and visual cohesion. More than just decorative elements, these planters created a secure, flexible perimeter that elevated the guest experience and transformed the sidewalk into a profitable, multifunctional space.
